RAJOURI, Feb 24: The Health Department, which swung into action after the protest by the relatives after the death of a 70-year-old woman during treatment at the Government hospital at Thannamandi late Sunday night, has issued orders for an inquiry.
CMO Rajouri, Dr ML Rana said that taking cognizance of the matter, a team has been formed under the chairmanship of District Immunization Officer Dr Dev Raj Katwal, in which Dr. Ghulam Qadir Bhatt, Dr. Jahan Ara and Junior Assistant Riyaz Malik have been made members.
The said team will investigate the circumstances responsible for the woman’s death and investigate the allegations of negligence. Along with examining the medical records, duty roster and statements of the employees present on duty at the time of death at PHC Thannamandi, the team will also record the statements of the family members of the deceased woman and find out any lapse in the care of the patient and fix responsibility.
According to CMO, the team has been ordered to investigate in a very fair and transparent manner and submit the report within two days.
