JAMMU, Feb 22: The Public Works Department (PWD) has constituted a committee to investigate the alleged misappropriation of Government funds by the engineers of PWD (R&B) Division, Shopian.
An order said, the committee comprising Tanveer Ali, Engineer-in-Chief, PW(R&B) Department and Atul Bali, Chief Engineer, DIQC J&K, and Ishfaq Mohammad Baig, Superintendent Engineer, Circle Anantnag, shall probe into the alleged misappropriation of funds by the departmental engineers in the construction of project namely “Strengthening/upgradation of Checki Kachdora to Checki Nowgam and Chetripora Kaprin roads” sanctioned under NABARD XXIII.
The order further said the committee shall examine the full details of the work viz sanctioned cost, allotted cost/quantities, executed quantities, funds released/expenditure incurred and detailed quality parameters and whether due process was followed and the execution of work as per contract agreement/bid document/GFR/Manual for procurement of works and J&K PWD Engineering manual.
The committee shall also ascertain the reasons for completion of the project including bridge and submit report/findings to the Administrative Department within 15 days from the date of issuance of the order, it said.
