RLJP to contest Panchayat, ULB elections in J&K

JAMMU, Feb 19: Rashtriya Lok Janshakti Party (RLJP) has announced its decision to contest upcoming Panchayat and Urban Local Body (ULB) elections in Jammu and Kashmir.
The announcement was made by the Party’s National spokesperson, Sanjay Saraf, during a press conference held here today. Saraf was accompanied by other senior leaders of the Party.

Speaking on the occasion, Saraf emphasized that the Party is committed to strengthening its presence in the Union Territory and will explore potential alliances with like-minded parties. He stated that RLJP has activated all its organizational wings, including the women’s wing and district- and mohalla-level units, in preparation for the electoral battle.
“As and when the elections are announced, RLJP will be fully prepared to contest and serve the people of J&K. We are working on ground-level mobilization to ensure a strong presence in the upcoming polls,” Saraf asserted.
He further noted that with the Assembly session in J&K set to commence soon, the Party hopes that significant public issues will be addressed. He specifically highlighted the long-pending demand for the safe and dignified return and rehabilitation of Kashmiri Pandits to the Valley. Additionally, he stressed the need for the introduction of a bill for the protection of temples and religious sites belonging to the KP community in Kashmir.
Saraf also expressed hope that the MLAs would engage in meaningful discussions on critical matters such as unemployment and the equitable development of both regions of the UT. He reiterated RLJP’s commitment to advocating for the rights and welfare of the people of the Union Territory.
