The protestors raised slogans demanding intervention of the district administration. The agitated drivers claimed that despite possessing valid documents, they were being stopped unnecessarily and subjected to pressure tactics. They alleged that the traffic personnel were issuing challans arbitrarily, causing inconvenience to the public.
When contacted, the Traffic SO Vinay Kumar refuted the allegations, stating that action was being taken strictly against violators of traffic rules. “We have issued 33 challans in the past few days against vehicles without proper documentation,” he said, adding that enforcement drives would continue to ensure road safety.
