UDHAMPUR, Feb 13: With the arrest of a notorious thief, Police claimed to have solved the case of theft in a shop at Majalta yesterday and also recovered the stolen items.
Theft had taken place in the shop of Naresh Singh, son of Sansar Singh of Sunal, and according to the complaint in this regard, thieves had stolen some selling items along with cash from the shop. A case FIR under relevant section of law was registered in this connection in PS Majalta.
Taking cognizance of the matter, a special police team led by SHO Majalta Sohan Singh was constituted to solve the case and nab the culprits. During the investigation several suspects were rounded up by the police team and put to sustained questioning. As one suspect namely Suman alias Raj Kumar, son of Munshi Ram of Sunal, Majalta confessed his involvement in the said case, he was arrested by the Police team.
On the confession of the accused person, stolen property was also recovered by the police team. Further investigation into the matter is in progress.
It is pertinent to mention that Suman alias Rajkumar has a history of involvement in multiple criminal cases and seven FIRs were already registered against him in Police Station Majalta.
