JAMMU, Feb 11: A bust of Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay, ideologue of BJP (erstwhile Bharatiya Jana Sangha), was installed and unveiled today at J&K BJP headquarters, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu.

Tarun Chugh, BJP National General Secretary & Prabhari of J&K, unveiled the bust in the presence of Sat Sharma, President, J&K BJP, along with Sunil Sharma, Leader of Opposition; Anirban Ganguly, Director of Dr Syama Prasad Mookerjee Research Foundation; Ashok Koul, General Secretary (organization); Kavinder Gupta, former Dy CM; Ch Vikram Randhawa, MLA; Priya Sethi, BJP NEM; Charanjit Singh Khalsa, and other senior leaders of party.
Tarun Chugh, while unveiling the statue, said that Pt Deen Dayal Upadhayay was a great thinker who answered various socio-economic and political questions towering before the world, through deep rooted Indian philosophy. He dedicated his whole life to the welfare of mankind and advocated a more humanistic approach to see the world and its issues. He said that the bust of such a great philanthropist, thinker and ideologist will inspire the future generations.
Sat Sharma, speaking on the occasion, said that Pt Deendayal Upadhyay was a visionary leader, who played a distinguished role in shaping the Indian political thought. He said that today, the BJP, J&K, has installed and unveiled the statue of Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyay, alongside the previously installed statue of Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee and said that the duo continue to guide ethical approach of BJP.
Aseem Gupta, Rakesh Mahajan, Ayodhya Gupta, Veenu Khanna, Anju Dogra, Tilak Raj Gupta, Balbir Ram Rattan, Dr Pardeep Mahotra, Ankit Gupta, Sanjita Dogra, Ranjodh Singh Nalwa, Sunil Prajapati, Rajnish Jain, Sanjay Baru, Naresh Singh Jasrotia, HS Pammi, Vinay Gupta, Neha Mahajan, Rekha Mahajan and other leaders were also present on the occasion.
Meanwhile, the BJP Kashmir unit today organized a solemn programme at the Party Headquarters in Jawahar Nagar, Srinagar, to pay tribute to Pandit Deen Dayal on his death anniversary.
Speaking on the occasion, the Waqf Board Chairperson Dr Darakshan Andrabi, emphasized that Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay’s ideas continue to inspire millions across the country. The BJP leaders called upon party workers to rededicate themselves to serving the people and working towards the holistic development of Jammu and Kashmir.
The programme concluded with floral tribute to Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay, followed by a pledge to carry forward his ideals in service of the nation.
