AJHLA delegation meets CM

JAMMU, Feb 7: A delegation of All Jammu Hotels and Lodges Association (AJHLA) led by its president, Pawan Gupta held a meeting with Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, here today.
During their meeting, the delegation raised the issue of problems being faced by tourism stakeholders particularly budget hoteliers who are passing through the worst period of their life.
Speaking on the occasion, Gupta submitted that there is now dire need to promote tourism in Jammu region by making it an independent tourist destination. As there is no dearth of picnic spots and scenic beauty in and around Jammu to attract tourists but the priority is the early completion of pending mega pipeline projects such as Mubarak Mandi complex, artificial lake and beautification of Tawi River banks on the pattern of Sabarmati.
He emphasized for early development/beautification of Ambaran Buddhist site, Jio Pota Ghat at Akhnoor and development of Raghunath Temple on the pattern of Golden Temple.
“The people of Jammu have a lot of hopes to be fulfilled by the newly elected Government in addressing the problems pertaining to budget hotel industry such as registration/ renewal of hotels, simplification of process of seeking NOC from Fire and Emergency Department and diversion of pilgrims of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi to Jammu City,” he added.
The members also expressed confidence in the CM’s leadership and urged for early redressal of their problems.
Among others, who also were the part of delegation included Anil Khajuria, Pritam Sharma, H S Manhas, Baldev Raj, Swarn Singh and Varun Gupta.
