RAJOURI, Feb 2: The police arrested two drug-peddlers in Kandi (Kotranka) and Nowshera areas of district Rajouri today.
A police spokesman said that a police team from Kandi arrested a drug- peddler and recovered 14 gms of heroin from his possession. The accused, identified as Kabir Ahmed, son of Ghulam Mohammad, resident of Rather Mandi, Daraj in Koteranka, has been booked under FIR No. 13/2025 by Police Station Koteranka.
He said the team was led by SHO Koteranka, Abrar Khan. SSP Rajouri, Gaurav Sikarwar reiterated the police department’s unwavering stance against drug peddlers and their networks.
Meanwhile, Nowshera police under the supervision of SDPO Jaswant Singh and SHO Nowshera Insp Arjun Magotra intercepted one person near Bareri and after his search recovered 7 gms of heroin.
He was identified as Sunny Kumar, son of Jai Ram, resident of Bareri, Hunjana Khanka, in Tehsil Nowshera. A case FIR No. 15/2025 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered in Police Station Nowshera against him.
