MASTA discusses key business challenges

JAMMU, Feb 2: The Medical and Surgical Traders Association (MASTA) convened a crucial meeting here today to address pressing concerns faced by institutional suppliers. The primary issues discussed included payment delays, supply chain inefficiencies, and fair supplier engagement.
Members unanimously raised concerns over delayed payments by JKMSCL and AMRIT Pharmacy, which are severely impacting business viability. These delays not only increase financial strain but also disrupt supply chains. The Association emphasized the need for systematic improvements in payment processing to ensure smoother operations.
MASTA members highlighted inefficiencies in routing supplies through AMRIT Pharmacy, arguing that this process leads to higher costs and bureaucratic delays. They advocated for direct Government procurement to streamline operations, reduce costs, and improve the availability of essential medicines.
The meeting also addressed concerns about companies dealing directly with JKMSCL and other departments, bypassing traditional suppliers. Members stressed the need for fair procurement policies to maintain a level playing field and prevent market distortions.
MASTA resolved to engage with authorities to push for timely payments, advocate for direct Government procurement, and promote fairness in supplier engagement.
The Association also pledged to continue dialogue with JKMSCL leadership to support ongoing reforms and ensure sustainable business operations.
