JAMMU, Jan 27: Son of soil, Ashok Samyal, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police in the CRPF, was among the 84 police officers nationwide honoured with the prestigious President’s Medal for Distinguished Service (PSM) on the Republic Day.
The awards, announced by the Ministry of Home Affairs, recognize outstanding contributions to policing and exceptional professional excellence.
Samyal, a resident of Guru Nanak Nagar, Jammu, is one of six CRPF officers across the nation to receive the award this year. He is currently posted as the Incharge of the Ground Centre in Greater Noida, NCR.
A former bright NCC cadet, Samyal represented Jammu and Kashmir in the Republic Day Parade in Delhi as part of the NCC contingent.
He completed his early education at Government Ranbir Memorial Higher Secondary School and furthered his studies at Government SPMR College of Commerce in Jammu.
The President’s Medal is one of the highest honours for police and paramilitary personnel in India, celebrating sustained excellence throughout their careers.
