DODA, Jan 22: On the 25th martyrdom anniversary of Constable Mool Dev Sharma, the 33 Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) organized a solemn ceremony at the Martyr’s native village, Duggli, here today to honor his courage, sacrifice and unwavering commitment to the nation.
Ct Mool Dev Sharma laid down his life on January 22, 2000, while valiantly fighting Naxalites in Tripura. The commemorative event, led by Arun Kumar Singh, Commanding Officer (CO) of the 33 Battalion, featured a wreath-laying ceremony at the Martyr’s memorial and the unveiling of a plaque in his honor.
Addressing the gathering, Sapan Suman, Second-in-Command (2IC) of 33 Battalion CRPF, highlighted the significance of the occasion, stating, “This ceremony serves as a poignant reminder of the enduring legacy of courage and sacrifice left behind by our brave hearts.”
Symbolic gifts were presented to Sanindra Sharma, the wife of the Martyr, as a token of appreciation for the family’s sacrifice. “These gifts serve as a small reminder of the profound impact the brave heart has had on the CRPF and its people,” added Suman.
As part of the program, a speech was delivered reflecting on the unparalleled bravery and selflessness of Ct Mool Dev Sharma. His dedication to duty and supreme sacrifice were underscored as a source of inspiration for all, reinforcing the values of duty, honor, and sacrifice that define the ethos of the CRPF.
The 33 Battalion CRPF also extended their deepest condolences and unwavering support to the Martyr’s family, whose strength and resilience will continue to inspire the force and the nation.
