JAMMU, Jan 20: The Department of Horticulture led by Chief Horticulture Officer Jammu, Rakesh Kotwal, organized a one-day training-cum-awareness camp at Pargwal.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from a large number of farmers, particularly women, reflecting the department’s commitment to empowering the farming community.
Speaking on the occasion, Kotwal enlightened the participants about various government schemes, including the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP) and the Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture (MIDH). Special emphasis was laid on empowering female participants by encouraging them to establish small-scale processing units for value-added products such as jams, pickles, squashes, juices, candies, and preserves.
