JAMMU, Jan 18: Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS), J&K in collaboration with Reserve Bank of India (RBI), here today organized a First Aid awareness camp for the employees of RBI.
The event was inaugurated by Regional Director, RBI, Chandrashekhar Azad and Rohit Khajuria, General Secretary IRCS, J&K.
During the programme, awareness was given by the team of Red Cross including Dr. Kavita Nijhon and Dr. Manpreet Kaur, Medical Officers and they were assisted by Ravi Kant Magotra, Pharmacist.
The training session was specifically designed to address scenarios that employees may encounter in their professional lives and was divided in two sessions. During first session, Dr. Kavita Nijhon gave practical demonstration and hands on training on Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation and wound care. During second session, Dr. Manpreet Kaur emphasized on basic first aid techniques, handling fractures, managing bleeding, transporting patient and responding to medical emergencies such as heart attacks or strokes.
Speaking at the occasion, Rohit Khajuria emphasized the importance of first aid training in workplaces.
In the end, Chandrashekhar Azad stated that such collaborative efforts underscore the importance of promoting health and safety awareness across diverse sectors of society during natural and man-made disasters.
The camp was supervised by Vironica Marwah, Field Officer and Pawan Sharma, Pharmacist, RBI.
