JAMMU, Jan 18: In a significant development for the resident doctors at Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu, Dr Sandeep Singh has been elected as the new president of the Resident Doctors’ Association (RDA).
The elections, held yesterday, resulted in a decisive victory for Dr Singh, who secured 352 votes out of the 623 total votes cast, underscoring the trust and confidence his colleagues have in his leadership abilities.
Dr Singh, a seasoned medical professional with extensive experience, has made addressing the issue of inadequate stipends for resident doctors his primary agenda. His goal is to achieve a long-overdue increase in stipends, bringing them on par with the compensation provided to their counterparts at Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) in Srinagar, where residents currently enjoy higher financial benefits.
