BJP organises outreach programme for KPs of Delhi NCR

JAMMU, Jan 16: To interact with the displaced Kashmiri Pandits living in Delhi NCR, an outreach programme organised by BJP was held here today.
The programme was held under the leadership of BJP Delhi head Virendra Sachdeva and attended by Jammu MP Jugal Kishore and many MLAs of J&K.
People from all walks of life, attended the programme and raised the core issues confronting them stoppage of monthly AMR dominated the proceedings.
Speaking on the occasion, ex-President of AIKS, Dr Ramesh Raina, stressed the need for a focussed attention to the problems faced by the KP migrants of the NCR.
To assuage and ease the recurrent difficulties faced by the displaced KPs, Dr Raina proposed to convert KP Migrant Cards into Multipurpose Cards. To consider opening of an extension office of the J&K Relief Commissioner at Kashmir House, 5- Prithvi Raj Road New Delhi.
Kashmiri Pandits constituted first line of natural defence for India in Kashmir and grass roots advocacy group, it therefore was imperative for the Government to come out with a blue print for the sustainable long term rehabilitation policy for the displaced community, said Dr Raina.
While concluding Dr Jitendra Singh said, It was a matter of great satisfaction to note that even after having gone through the nightmare of mass exodus from the Valley, the members of Kashmiri Pandit community, now settled far away from Kashmir, still hold the same amount of commitment to their motherland.
Among others who attended the function included Alka Lahori, Manorama Bakshi, Puran Patwari and Bansi Razdan.
