JAMMU, Jan 16: PoJK Visthapit Sewa Samiti today launched its much-awaited 2025 annual calendar during a press conference at the Press Club, Jammu.
The calendar is dedicated to raise awareness about the historical and ongoing suffering of Hindus and Sikhs, displaced from Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK) following the invasions by Pakistan in 1947, 1965, and 1971.
Dr Deepak Kapoor, president of the Samiti explained that this year’s wall calendar depicts atrocities endured by displaced families and their continued struggle for justice and recognition. The calendar features rare photographs documenting the mass exodus, loss of lives, and property, as well as the enduring impact of the violence and displacement on their lives.
Arun Chowdhary, general secretary of the Samiti, emphasized that this marks the third calendar released by the organization since 2023. He added that the calendar will be distributed to PoJK displaced persons and also shared with the general public to help and preserve the collective memory of these communities.
“This initiative is part of our ongoing efforts to ensure that the stories of PoJK displaced families are not forgotten, and that future generations understand their struggles,” he said.
The Samiti has been at the fore front of advocating for the welfare of PoJK displaced persons, working tirelessly for the rehabilitation of the community and striving to secure the return of PoJK, Pakistan occupied Territory of Ladakh (PoTL), and China occupied Territory of Ladakh (CoTL), which remain under the illegal occupation of Pakistan and China. The Samiti’s ultimate goal remains the reclamation of these territories.
Ashok Khajuria, a prominent leader and advisor of the Samiti was also present at the event, underscoring the importance of continuing the struggle for justice and the rights of PoJK displaced families.
