JAMMU, Jan 12: Police in Sainik Colony area here have successfully solved a vehicle theft case and recovered a stolen motorcycle within 24 hours along with seven other vehicles.
A police official said that one Sandeep Gupta of Sainik Colony Jammu reported theft of a motorcycle from outside his house.
Based on his complaint, he said, a case was registered and an investigation was promptly initiated.
Accordingly, the police official said that a special team led by PSI Prince Jasrotia of Police Post Sainik Colony, along with SHO Inspector Shariq from Police Station Channi Himmat, carried out the investigation under the supervision of SDPO Sheezan Bhat and SP South Jammu Ajay Sharma.
Using intelligence gathered from local sources and CCTV footage, the team was able to identify the thief and recover the stolen motorcycle, he said.
In addition to this, he said, seven more vehicles that are suspected to be stolen were also seized by the police. These include two Pulsar motorcycles, a Passion Plus motorcycle, a passenger auto, an auto load carrier, and two Honda Activa scooters, all of which are being investigated.
Further investigation is underway, added the police official.
