Police books CRPF man for harassing woman

Srinagar, May 21: Police today booked a CRPF man in Shopian for harassing and intimidating a woman.
A police spokesman said a woman from Reshnagri village of the district complained that the CRPF man, Rahim Khan son of Isaaq Khan, who is posted in Pulwama district, has harassed and intimidated the woman for marriage.
Superintendent of Police, Shopian, Showkat Ahmad, told Excelsior that they have registered an FIR no. 24/2014 294,506,420, 34/ IPC against the accused CRPF man.
The SP said that the complainant woman and the accused had an affair till 2011 and wanted to marry. “But the woman had later refused the marriage offer from the CRPF man,” he said.
The accused CRPF man lives in village Pankal of Cuttack District of Orissa where a similar FIR is registered against him for harassing the same woman in Tigiria Cuttack in Orissa.
The SP said that few days ago Khan had again approached the woman in Shopian and the woman lodged the complaint of harassment against him.
