Srinagar, May 19: One person was killed, while 7 others were injured in road accidents across the Valley.
A police spokesman said a Wagon-R, JK13A/8006, driven by Mohammad Ishaq Khan son of Abdul Gani of Jowbrara, Awantipora, hit and injured a pedestrian, Teerak Singh son of Ishrat Singh of Ashmuqam on Galander highway.
The injured was shifted to SKIMS Soura, Srinagar, for treatment where he succumbed to his injuries.
A Santro car, JK01S/4319, hit a motor-cycle, DL3SB/4380, at Laam in Nishat, resulting in injuries to the motorcyclist and a pillion. Both the injured were shifted to hospital for treatment.
In another accident, a XYLO vehicle, JK09/5897, on way from Kupwara to Sopore hit and injured a person, Wali Mohammad Lone son of Haji Munwar Lone of Shart Muqam on highway at Drugmulla. The injured was shifted to Bone & Joints Hospital Barzulla, Srinagar for treatment.
In another road accident, a motorcycle, TEMP-4-K877 (Royal En-Field) driven by Tsewaing Panchoo son of Lamchung Tsewaing of Saspol Leh hit and injured a pedestrian, Ghulam Rasool Chopan son of Ghulam Ahmad Chopan of Goripora Kangan near a petrol pump in Wussan, Ganderbal. The injured was shifted to SKIMS Soura, Srinagar for treatment.
An unknown tipper hit and injured a boy,8, Burhan Ahmed Sheikh son of Mohammad Shafi of Qaimoh near Ziyarat Sharief Qaimoh in Kulgam.
The injured was shifted to Bone and Joints Hospital Srinagar for treatment.
Two women constables, Nahida and Aarifat of 18 Bn who were on way to Zewan on a Scooty were hit and injured by a truck near Hyderpora Flyover. Both the injured have been shifted to SMHS Hospital for treatment, the spokesman said.
He said police has registered cases in all these accidents.
