POONCH, Dec 20: The Drug and Food Control Department today suspended license of three Medical shops in Poonch city for indulging in illegal sale of banned drugs.
Official sources said that acting on credible information regarding the illegal sale of banned drugs to youth without proper medical prescriptions, the local police took swift action.
During a series of coordinated raids conducted under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Poonch, several medical shops were found engaged in the unauthorized sale of such medicines. The police also seized some medicines being sold illegally.
The matter was taken up with the Assistant Controller, Drug and Food Control Organisation Poonch, Archna Mujoo. The Assistant Controller suspended the Licences of these three shops for one week. These shops include— Raman Medical Hall, Kamsar; Arsh Medical Hall, Kamsar and Arvinder Medical Hall, Parade, Poonch.
SSP Poonch urged the public to report any similar activities to the authorities to ensure such incidents are curbed effectively.
