JAMMU (South), Dec 15: The Jammu & Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) working president Raman Bhalla today said that the party will always stand for the rights of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. He said development, dignity and peace in J&K are the top priorities of Congress.
Interacting with public in different parts of RS Pura in Jammu South constituency, Bhalla said Govt should gear up men and machinery to conduct Panchayat, Municipality elections. The democracy that has been prevailing here for so long, instead of protecting that democracy, BJP Govt has learned to break it. He thanked Supreme Court for Assembly elections in J&K, that would have opened their eyes and they announced and moved towards elections.
Bhalla claimed that Congress is committed to address all matters of ‘Jal, Jangal or Jameen’ we want to fight for all of them and if they ever want to snatch things from you, now we will not let them do so. “We are standing with you. Unemployment is increasing so much. Lakhs of vacancies were vacant here in the state, they didn’t fill the vacancies. The vacancies that were filled were made temporary, on daily wages, on contract basis. So this kind of politics was going on here, this kind of politics was started here by PM Modi. People may tolerate once or twice, but if there is excess of something, then people stand up against it,” he added.
Cong leader said price rise is also happening, inflation is increasing and exploitation of poor is also increasing in the country. So that is why, we want that our Party will make every effort to bring its administration here in a proper manner and we are with you. He said that Union Territories have become states, but it’s the first time that a state has become Union Territory. So, we are very clear in our approach as well that it is a priority for us that the people of Jammu & Kashmir get their democratic rights back.
“Congress agenda has always been the restoration of Statehood, development, dignity and peace in J&K,” he said, adding that any law which do not safeguard the interests and rights of people of J&K would be unacceptable to Congress.
