JKAACL organises Ru-Ba-Ru with novelist Bhupinder Singh Raina

JAMMU, Dec 14: The Jammu & Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture, and Languages (JKAACL) today organized a literary programme, “Ru-Ba-Ru”, at the KL Saigal Auditorium, Jammu.
The event, held under the guidance of Harwinder Kour, Secretary JKAACL, focused on the life and literary contributions of Bhupinder Singh Raina, an eminent Punjabi fiction writer.
Ajit Singh Mastana, a noted Punjabi Ghazal writer, presided over the event, while Dr. Arvinder Singh Amn was the chief guest.
Bhupinder Singh Raina, along with Popinder Singh Paras, Editor of Sheeraza Punjabi, JKAACL, and other dignitaries, participated in the event.
A highlight of the programme was the release of Raina’s Punjabi novel for children, Vidyarthi Nama. The event attracted a large number of intellectuals and writers from various linguistic backgrounds.
Bhupinder Singh Raina, originally from Baramulla in Kashmir, developed an interest in fiction from an early age.
After joining the Air Force during his college years, Raina wrote two novels and two plays by the age of 25.
However, a 45-year gap in his writing occurred due to his service. Raina later returned to writing, producing eleven novels in Punjabi.
His works are included in the syllabus of postgraduate courses at the University of Jammu and Ganga Nagar University.
Harjit Singh Uppal, a renowned poet and Punjabi writer, presented a paper on Raina’s literary journey.
Raina shared his creative experiences with the audience, discussing his literary process and the impact of his works worldwide.
In his presidential address, Ajit Singh Mastana praised Raina’s works for their humanistic and societal themes, highlighting his exceptional craftsmanship.
Dr Arvinder Singh Amn also lauded Raina’s contributions to Punjabi literature.
Harwinder Kour emphasized JKAACL’s commitment to organizing similar literary events across Jammu and Kashmir.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Popinder Singh Paras.
