District Police Chief reviews crime, operational preparedness

DODA, Dec 14: SSP Doda, Sandeep Kumar Mehta here today chaired a crime and operational preparedness review meeting which was attended by Supervisory Officers/SHOs and Incharge Police Posts apart from officers of Special Operations Group of the District.
A comprehensive review of crime registration during the year 2024 along with backlog cases and disposal during the current year was held with Supervisory Officers/SHOs and Incharge Police Posts (ICPPs) who gave brief account of their work done during the current year in the area of crime and other allied matters.
A detailed discussion was held with supervisory officers/SHOs/Incharge Police Posts on under investigation cases with special focus on cases of heinous nature.
Necessary directions were issued to officers to ensure quality investigation of under investigation cases involving heinous offence and to follow the under trial cases in Courts vigorously to ensure conviction so that justice is delivered to the crime victims.
Supervisory officers/SHOs were emphasized upon to go tough against the offenders of NDPS Act, bovine smugglers and to initiate proceedings against the repeated offenders of NDPS for attachment of their property.
They were also directed to launch special drive for the arrest of absconders, tracing out of missing persons and keep the suspicious persons and other criminals, trouble creators under close surveillance.
Against traffic violators, the officers were directed to intensify Naka checking and book the traffic violators under law besides organizing of traffic awareness programmes and counselling sessions for drivers.
A detailed review of operational preparedness of the district Police was also taken and it was emphasized upon the officers to lay ambushes and Nakas at the probable routes of terrorists operating in the area.
Further it was stressed that a keen eye should be kept on the activities of all the already identified sleeper cells and stringent action be taken if they are found involved in any subversive actions.
