JAMMU, Dec 13: Prominent Gujjar and National Conference (NC) leader, Shamsher Hakla Poonchi along with a delegation of members of Gujjar and Bakerwal community called on senior NC leader and MP from Anantnag -Rajouri Lok Sabha constituency, Mian Altaf Ahmed and discussed the various issues of the people of the constituency especially those living in far -flung and remote areas of the cosntituency.
Hakla, while discussing the issues stressed that special attention be paid on construction of roads under PMGSY scheme in far-flung and backward areas especially inhabited by nomadic community.
He informed the MP that the way he took up the issue of speedy construction of Jammu Poonch Highway in Lok Sabha and it was result of his efforts that the construction work got a pace and the people are hopeful that in the same way he will take up the issue of construction of roads in hitherto left out areas in the constituency for speedy construction.
The delegation said the people of the twin districts of Poonch and Rajouri are also hopeful that with the efforts of MP the Railway line will be extended from Reasi to Rajouri and a long pending demand of the people will be settled for which recommendation was already made by him to Ministry of Railways.
Hakla was optimistic that all basic infrastructure to Government Medical College (GMC) Rajouri will be provided by the Government as the MP has also taken up the issue with higher ups in the Government so that the patients of far-flung and remote areas have not to proceed to Jammu for these facilities as MP has also assured to pay grants from his fund in this regard.
