JAMMU, Dec 13: The Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG), Shiv Kumar Sharma, along with senior police officials, today released an anti-drug awareness song at the Conference Hall, District Police Lines (DPL) Jammu.
The song was sung and composed by Jammu and Kashmir Police SPO Gourav Sharma, and directed by KK Malhotra.
The event was also attended by SSP Jammu Joginder Singh, SO to DIG Rajinder Singh Katoch, SP Rural Jammu Birjesh Sharma, SP City South Jammu Ajay Sharma, and Team Jammu president Zorawar Singh.
The programme began with a screening of anti-drug awareness videos, followed by the song composed by Gourav Sharma. The song was well received by the police officers and media present.
In his address, DIG Shiv Kumar Sharma emphasized the harmful effects of drugs, describing them as a poison that destroys lives.
He urged the public, especially the youth, to avoid drugs and spread awareness about their dangers.
He also appreciated Gourav Sharma’s efforts in composing the song and thanked Zorawar Singh for his support.
Gourav Sharma was honored with a cash prize and a memento for his contribution. Other police officers were also recognized for their efforts in combating drug abuse.
The event concluded with the national anthem.
