AKHNOOR, Dec 9: Aimed to provide clean drinking water in every household under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s flagship Jal Jeevan Mission, senior BJP leader and District Development Council (DDC) member, Pandit Suresh Sharma kick started the construction work of a new Tubewell in Panchayat Maira Mandrian, here today.
With an estimated expenditure of Rs 5.87 crore, this ambitious water project includes the construction of GSR with a capacity of 50,000 gallons and 30,000 gallons, which have already been completed.
Additionally, work on the new pipeline is nearing completion.
Once finished, the project promises to alleviate the water scarcity in Maira Mandrian significantly.
Speaking on the occasion, Suresh Sharma highlighted that under the stewardship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi the Jal Jeevan Mission is transforming water accessibility across the country.
He also highlighted the ongoing construction of 13 dugwells in Chowki Chowra and 9 Tubewells in Maira Mandrian, including one in Panchayat Barui at a cost of Rs 4.61 crore and two in Panchayat Nardi, with an investment of 5.27 crore are under construction.
Sharma reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring that every household has access to clean drinking water in this Kandi area.
The residents of Maira Mandrian expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Suresh Sharma and lauded his dedication to the region’s development and improving their quality of life.
The event was attended by several prominent dignitaries included BJP Mandal President Ram Lal Sharma, Master Chanchal Singh, Ashok Purohit, Vishwanath, Tarsem Lal, Bittu Ram, Sita Ram, Tirth Ram, Subhash Chandra, Sobha Ram, Ratan Lal, Titru Ram, Jameet Raj, Sunil Shastri, Pawan Shastri, Sanjeev Singh, Balwant Singh, Joginder Lal and Ramesh Chandra.
