NEW DELHI, Dec 5: To discuss the execution of work on five hydroelectric power projects in Ladakh, Chairman/Chief Executive Councillor, Dr. Mohd Jaffer Akhoon along with Member of Parliament Ladakh, Mohamad Haneefa met with the Minister for New and Renewable Energy, Minister for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Pralhad Joshi, here today.
During the meeting, Dr. Akhoon requested an increase in the ration quota for Ladakh and the advance dispatch of essential public distribution items to remote and inaccessible areas in view of the challenging topography and weather conditions of the region.
CEC also requested for special dispensation to Ladakh to ensure food security and addressing logistical challenges faced by the region’s far-flung communities.
The Minister assured that these projects would be prioritized under a new scheme of the Ministry, set to be launched in the near future.
