DMO Kathua suspended

KATHUA, Dec 4: The Jammu and Kashmir Government’s Department of Mining has suspended Naveen Kumar, District Mineral Officer (DMO) Kathua over an inquiry into his conduct.
As per an order, during his suspension, the suspended officer will remain attached to the Directorate of Geology and Mining and Varinder Singh, DMO Jammu, will manage the Kathua office’s routine work in addition to his own duties until further orders.
“Pending inquiry into his conduct, Naveen Kumar (Driller), District Mineral Officer, Kathua is hereby placed under suspension in terms of Rule 31 of the Jammu and Kashmir Civil Services (Classification, Control and Appeal) Rules, 1956 with immediate effect. During the period of suspension, he shall remain attached in the Directorate of Geology and Mining, J&K,” read an order issued by Vikramjit Singh, Commissioner Secretary to the Government, Department of Mining.
“Consequent upon the suspension of Naveen Kumar, District Mineral Officer, Kathua, Varinder Singh, District Mineral Officer, Jammu, shall look after the routine work of District Mineral Officer, Kathua in addition to his own duties till further orders,” the order read.
