UDHAMPUR, May 7: Arrangements to ensure smooth conduct of annual 3-day Shiv Parvati Caves Shrine Mela, Moungri commencing from May 14, 2014, were discussed at a meeting of district officers and prominent citizens including local mela committee members held under the chairmanship of Additional Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur, Vikas Sharma here today.
In the meeting threadbare discussion was held on various arrangements related to smooth conduct of mela like security, sanitation, health care, transport, traffic, drinking water and power supply, checking of rates, ration supply, cultural programme and sports.
ADC directed the officers to ensure that all arrangements pertaining to their respective departments are made well in advance and in an effective manner.
It was also informed in the meeting that rural sports would be organized during the mela besides wrestling matches among the school students would also be held.
Tehsildar Settlement, Shri Nath Suman would be the Mela Officer.
Among others, IAS Probationer, Ravinder Kumar, District Information Officer, Dr. Ashwani Hansa, Chairman Shiva-Parvati Caves Shrine, Advocate S.D. Kotwal, President Indian Style wrestling Association, Shiv Kumar Sharma and senior officers of various departments were present on the occasion.
