KULGAM, Nov 19: Samadhaan Foundation today hosted a ‘Kashmir Dialogue’ at Panchmukhi Colony Vessu, near here, attracting participants from numerous districts across the Kashmir region.
Pawan Sharma, patron-in-chief of Samadhaan Foundation, graced the occasion as main speaker, while Sanjay Koul, a distinguished social worker, presented the keynote speech.
The event drew prominent intellectuals from the Kashmiri Pandit community, who shed light on the myriad difficulties and challenges they face in their daily existence.
In his address, Pawan Sharma said that the Kashmir Dialogue initiative held at Panchmukhi Shiv Dhaam in Vessu Colony is an important step towards fostering dialogue and engagement regarding the situation of Kashmiri Pandits. Sharma said that overall, the Kashmir Dialogue at Panchmukhi Shiv Dhaam represents an important grassroots effort to engage Kashmiri Pandits in discussions about their future in Kashmir. Such initiatives can play a valuable role in the broader process of addressing the complex issues surrounding the Kashmiri Pandit community, he added.
Sharma urged the Central and State governments to swiftly resolve the community’s legitimate demands and concerns. He also highlighted the intrinsic connection between Kashmir and Kashmiri Pandits, ensuring that their valid grievances will receive due consideration in a suitable forum.
Pawan Sharma urged the Global Kashmiri Pandit community to observe annually a Pledge Day in Kashmir, reconnect with their heritage and safeguard their cultural legacy.
Sharma appealed to the Kashmiri Pandit community to initiate the ‘Mera Gaon, Mera Tirath’ endeavour, targeting the rejuvenation of cultural bonds with Kashmir’s rich history and ancestral foundations.
Sanjay Koul articulated the concerns of the Kashmiri Pandit community. He said that the rehabilitation and return of Kashmiri Pandits to the Valley aims to preserving Kashmiri Pandit culture and heritage Integrating the community into the socio-economic fabric of Kashmir. Such dialogue initiatives are crucial for several reasons. They provide a platform for Kashmiri Pandits to voice their concerns and aspirations and help in maintaining cultural connections and passing on traditions to younger generations.
Ajeet Katerwal, co-founder of Samadhaan Foundation, delivered a comprehensive presentation outlining the organization’s structural framework, core objectives and prominent activities, while Vicky Sharma extended gratitude to attendees. Milap Singh oversaw the seamless execution of the event.
