JAMMU, Nov 18: A delegation of PoJK Visthapit Sewa Samiti J&K today met Dr Arvind Karwani, Relief & Rehabilitation Commissioner and projected various issues of PoJK Displaced Persons (DPs) including domicile certificates of DPs settled outside J&K and left out cases of ex gratia relief to DPs within the Union Territory.
Dr Deepak Kapoor (president, PoJK Visthapit Sewa Samiti), which led the delegation, stressed upon Dr Karwani to expedite the process of domicile certificates issuance to the eligible persons. It was decided to conduct outreach camps by the Department in coordination with PoJK Visthapit Sewa Samiti outside J&K where PoJK DPs are in good number.
Issues pertaining to PoJK DPs from Deva Batala and other adjoining areas were also discussed and sorted out. Ongoing camps for left out cases of ex-gratia relief of 5.5 lakh to PoJK DP families were also discussed and strategy to conduct such camps in near future in coordination with PoJK Visthapit Sewa Samiti was finalized.
Other PoJK Visthapit Sewa Samiti members, Damanjeet Singh, Jagdev Singh, Sidhant Randhawa and Rahul Dev Singh were also part of the delegation.
