This decision was taken after receiving numerous requests for age relaxation, particularly in view of the delays associated with the formation of Ladakh as a Union Territory.
As per the Ladakh Police (Subordinate) Service Recruitment Rules, 2021, the upper age limit for Sub-Inspector recruitment was set between 18 and 28 years.
However, a one-time age relaxation was previously granted in 2021, setting the upper age limits at 30 years for Sub-Inspectors, 30 years for Constables, and 37 years for Followers, effective for two years. This order has since lapsed.
In response to the fresh representations, the Lieutenant Governor has now extended the upper age limit for Sub-Inspectors by an additional two years, applicable for the Executive Wing, Armed/IRP Wing, HG/CD/UTDRF Wing, and Telecommunication Cadre.
“This age relaxation is a one-time measure and will remain in effect for two years from the date of issuance of this order,” read an order issued by the UT of Ladakh.
