JAMMU, Nov 14: The grand joint edition of Jammu Film Festival (JFF) and The International Film Festival of Srinagar (TIFFS) is set to commence on November 20, 2024, with an opening ceremony at the Aquaplex Crown in Bagh-e-Bahu, Jammu.
This was informed by Festival Director, Rohit Bhat in a press conference here today.
He said that the ceremony will include glamorous red carpet welcome to artists, members of film industry, delegates and distinguished guests, alongside captivating musical performances and notable felicitations.
“The 4 day event at Jammu and Srinagar has full support from Tourism Department Director, Vivekanand Rai and Joint Director Sunaina Sharma Mehta,” Bhat maintained.
Vivekanand Rai emphasized the powerful synergy between tourism and the film industry, particularly given Jammu’s breathtaking landscapes and cultural depth.
Sunaina Sharma Mehta said, “This festival amplifies Jammu’s potential, combining cinema and tourism to create lasting impressions.”
The organizers informed that this year’s edition is dedicated to Late Mushtaq Kak, whose contribution to Indian theatre and film remains monumental.
The festival will also host delegates from Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Gujarat and Southern States, marking the event as a truly national celebration of cinema.
The festival will commence with screenings of films in Jammu from November 20 to 22 and in Srinagar from November 22 to 23 at Tagore Hall where grand finale will also be organized.
The festival will culminate with a closing ceremony on November 23, celebrating the best of global and regional cinema.
Sanjay Saraf, Advisor of the Festival, Manzoor Ahmad Mir, Renowned Director, Lalit Parimoo, Renowned Actor and Rahul Sharma, Director, both key jury members, Bharti Kaul, vice president of Vomedh, Bhavna Pandita, Core Team Member along with Rakesh Roshan Bhat, Mentor of Vomedh and Festival Co-Director, Kamaksha Dogra, King C Bharti, Shazi Khan, Irfana Banu Suman Bhat, Amit Singh and Amir Farooq also spoke on the occasion.
Renowned anchors Bindiya Tickoo and Kusum Tickoo will bring their dynamic presence to the festival, hosting the event over its five-day in Jammu and Srinagar.
