JAMMU, Oct 30: Jagti Migrants Welfare Movement (JMWM) has expressed grave concern over denial of flour to migrants from ration depots.
In a statement issued here, today chairman of the Movement, Sunil Pandita said that for over one year the flour is not issued to migrant relief holders and non relief holders who have to purchase it from the market at Rs 40 per kg.
He said while flour through the ration depots to ration card holders is sold on Rs 15 per kg, the migrants are forced to purchase it in open market. Pandita demanded immediate release of flour quota to migrant relief holders and non relief holders including pensioners and class fourth employees as they are unable to purchase the same at exorbitant rates from market.
He also demanded immediate distribution of monthly ration to relief holders in view of the Diwali festival and release of sugar quota which too has been stopped to migrant relief holders for reasons best known to the Government.
