JAMMU, Oct 24: Vikram Randhawa, MLA Bahu Constituency, chaired a meeting with officials from the Public Works Department (PWD), Gandhi Nagar Division, to assess the progress of ongoing development projects.
Given that 90 percent of Bahu falls under this division, Randhawa stressed the importance of accelerating infrastructure development in the area.
The meeting was attended by senior PWD officials, including Executive Engineers, Assistant Executive Engineers (AEEs), Junior Engineers (JEs), Vice-Chairman of the Cantonment Board Jammu, Bharat Bhushan, and former Councillor Neeraj Puri.
Randhawa focused on the deteriorating condition of roads, expressing concern over the delay in repairs.
He emphasized that immediate repairs and blacktopping must be prioritized to avoid inconveniences during the winter season.
“The improvement of road infrastructure must be a top priority,” Randhawa stated, instructing PWD officials to ensure that all blacktopping works are completed before the onset of winter to maintain smooth connectivity for residents.
The BJP leader also indicated that remaining road and development projects would be included in the State Plan.
He reassured residents that all pending works would be completed promptly and urged PWD officials to adopt a proactive approach in expediting project completion.
“Our goal is to transform Bahu into a modal constituency with superior infrastructure and public services, and we will continue to work tirelessly to achieve this,” Randhawa asserted.
