UDHAMPUR, Oct 20: Police team from Udhampur led by SHO Raghuvir Singh seized a vehicle and recovered 20 kg poppy straw from it.
Reports said that police team during routine vehicle checking at Jakhani naka point, on National Highway recovered 20 kg of poppy straw from a truck bearing Registration Number PB06G-2255. The driver of the vehicle has been arrested. He was identified as Sarabjeet Singh, son of Gurdyal Singh of Balagan, Gurdaspur, Punjab.
In this connection, A case FIR No. 423/2024 under sections 8/15 NDPS Act stands registered in Police Station Udhampur and the investigation has been started.
In another case, the Police team of Police Post Tikri during checking at Tikri naka point stopped one vehicle bearing registration number JK01AJ-7485 for checking.
On frisking of the driver of vehicle namely Mohd Ashraf, son of Mohd. Ismail of Chanpora, Srinagar, 16. 31 grams of heroin (Chitta) was recovered from his possession. He has been arrested on the spot.
A case FIR No. 229/2024 U/S 8/21/22/ NDPS Act stands registered at Police Station Rehambal in this connection.
