JAMMU, Oct 14: In a special ceremony, the Jammu & Kashmir Samaj Kalyan Kendra (SKK) awarded cash prizes to the class toppers of the Board of School Education examinations for the 2023-24 session in the 8th, 10th, 11th and 12th grades. This initiative is part of SKK’s voluntary effort to recognize outstanding students from the School for Hearing Handicapped, which it operates.
Former State Election Commissioner B.R. Sharma presented the award cheques to five exceptional students. Among the distinguished guests were former DGPs and life members of SKK, including Kuldeep Khoda, Dr. Ashok Bhan, President K.B. Jandial, Senior Vice President Er. Vijay Bhagotra, General Secretary JK Vaid, Treasurer MD Sharma and Principal Roshan Bhan.
Ananya Thappa, the 12th-grade topper, received a cheque of Rs 5,000 for scoring 400 out of 500 marks. Karamjeet Singh and Surekha Devi shared the 11th-grade award with 402 marks, each receiving Rs 4,000. Sudha Choudhary topped the matriculation examination with 462 marks, earning Rs 3,000, while Harn Kuch, with 428 marks in the 8th grade, received Rs 2,500.
Additionally, the Smt. Gian Devi Jandial Public Charitable Trust also provided cash awards for these achievers, with Kuldeep Khoda and Dr. Ashok Bhan presenting the awards. This Trust is affiliated with K.B.
