Jeera futures surge 1.79 pc on strong demand

NEW DELHI, Apr 25:  Supported by strong demand in the spot markets, jeera prices surged 1.79 per cent to Rs 10,810 per quintal in futures trading today as speculators enlarged positions.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, jeera for delivery in June shot up by Rs 190, or 1.79 per cent to Rs 10,810 per quintal with an open interest of 4,287 lots.
Similarly, the spice for delivery in May traded higher by Rs 175, or 1.67 per cent to Rs 10,670 per quintal in 8,619 lots.
Analysts said strong demand in the spot markets mainly attributed gains in jeera prices at futures trade. (PTI)
