SRINAGAR, Oct 7: Police today arrested two notorious drug peddlers in Sopore and recovered heroin from their possession.
Authorities reported that a police team, led by SHO of Police Station Tarzoo under the supervision of SDPO Sopore Sarfaraz Bashir, intercepted and apprehended two individuals at a checkpoint established at Sofi Akbar Road, Chankhan.
The individuals have been identified as Muzafar Ahmad Marazi, also known as Muzz Marazi, son of Mohammad Akbar Marazi, a resident of Sofi Hamam Sopore, and Ishfaq Ahmad Lone, son of Abdul Majeed Lone, a resident of Wangam Bandipora.
“During the search, 5 grams of a heroin-like contraband substance was recovered from their possession. They have been arrested and shifted to Police Station Tarzoo, where they remain in custody,” authorities said.
A case has been registered under the relevant sections of law at Police Station Tarzoo and an investigation is underway.
Authorities also stated that Muzafar Ahmad Marazi is involved in multiple cases under the NDPS Act across different police stations.
