JMC intensifies demolition drive

JAMMU, Apr 22: The Enforcement staff led by the Chief Enforcement Officer of Jammu Municipal Corporation under the guidance of Kiran Wattal, Commissioner Municipal Corporation Jammu and Kapil Sharma, Joint Commissioner (Adm), JMC, while intensifying the drive against the unauthorized construction, violations and encroachments undertook an extensive day long drive and demolished illegal constructions at two places.
The team demolished the construction being raised by JPS Jamwal S/O Anchal Singh Jamwal at Plot No: 18-A, Pvt Area Channi Himmat near Government Higher Secondary School, Jammu without the permission of the JMC.
The team also demolished the 1st floor at Gulab Singh Marg of Subash Sharma who was raising the construction without the permission of JMC.
The demolition drive has been conducted with the help and assistance of police force from Police Station Channi Himmat.
The JMC once again appealed to the general public to refrain from making encroachments and unauthorized constructions otherwise action as admissible under rule leading to demolition / sealing will be taken.
In the ongoing drive against the menace of adulteration in the commonly used food items, the team of food officers along with other field staff under the supervision of Dr Mohammed Saleem Khan Health Officer had lifted seven samples of different food articles from ICDS projects Roop Nagar and Gandhi Nagar and from the centers at Gandhi Nagar and Karan Nagar area and sent to the food analyst Jammu for detecting their standards of purity.
It has received reports of five samples out of which one sample lifted from ICDS Project Gandhi Nagar was substandard. Besides, the team seized 81 tins of refined Soya bean Oil Golden Brand.
