RAMBAN, Apr 21: Police today arrested husband for killing his wife in village Chirachi, falling under the jurisdiction of Banihal police station.
As per police sources, on March 20, Ghulam Mohammad Hazam of village Chirachi had claimed that his wife Rahima Begum was killed in a bear attack at her native place.
Hazam had also admitted himself in a hospital at Banihal claiming that he was also injured in the attack.
Sensing some foul play, police registered a case in this regard and started investigations.
During the course of investigations, the husband of the victim confessed that he has murdered his wife as she was not allowing him to perform second marriage.
The accused has been arrested and a case under FIR number 22/14 under Section 302 RPC registered at Banihal police station.
