POONCH, Apr 21: While arrested local religious leader hailing from Mandi area of Poonch has been sent on 15 days’ judicial remand, a Junior Engineer working in Rural Development Department at Mandi, a Government teacher and a peon who are also wanted in case FIR No. 15/ 2014 by Mandi Police, are yet to be traced by cops and placed under suspension by the concerned departments.
The police has already nabbed a local religious leader Mohd Farid (44), son of Mohd Hafiz of Arai village of Mandi for allegedly kidnapping and committing rape on a minor girl hailing from Jallian village in Mandi block of Poonch district. He along with four associates kidnapped 17-year-old girl Shaheen (name changed) from Jallian village about 20 days back and took her to remote area in Budhal of district Rajouri.
Reports said though police was conducting series of raids to nab JE Mohd Asadullah from Kunda Azmabad village, teacher Abdul Rehman, son of Abdul Ahad and peon Mohd Akram and one Bashir Ahmed from Sagra in Mendhar, yet no departmental action has been taken against the Government employees. The JE hailing from Mandi area, is said to be a close relative of NC legislator from Poonch area.
ACD Poonch Showkat Ahmed Malik when contacted said that he would get details about the case from the BDO Mandi before taking any action against the Junior Engineer. The Chief Education Officer Poonch Abdul Hamid Fani, however, claimed that he has asked the Zonal Education Officer Mandi to take action in this regard. He however, did not confirm the suspension of teacher or the peon or any departmental action against these Government employees, booked under case FIR No. 15/ 2014 by Mandi police.
