JAMMU, Apr 21: Terming the recent speech of National Conference (NC) chief and Union Minister of New and Renewable Energy, Dr Farooq Abdullah as provocative, BJP today demanded registration of FIR against him and ban on his contesting the Lok Sabha election.
“Farooq’s speech on April 16 at Baramulla Dak Banglow during the filing of nomination by his party candidate, Sharief-ud-Din Sharik was provocative, unparliamentary, undemocratic, derogatory, inflammatory and full of hatred,” BJP State Vice-President and Kashmir in-charge Ramesh Arora told reporters here along with media incharge Kashmir, Altaf Thakur, Jammu Poonch Parliamentary Incharge, Yudhvir Sethi and IT Cell State converner Jaidev Rajwal.
“BJP demands ban on his candidature, seizure of party symbol of NC, registration of FIR and his immediate sacking from the Union Ministry for the hate and provocative speech,” he said.
“The CD of his speech is being sent to the Election Commission and Chief Electoral Officer, J&K, along with a written complaint for necessary action,” Arora said.
Arora said earlier during BJP’s complaint against the Social Welfare Minister, Sakina Ittoo for violating Model Code of Conduct, the EC sought the recording and proof of the same. “But this time we have kept the proof of his speech also’’ he added.
Dr Abdullah is contesting from Srinagar Lok Sabha Constituency.
Arora said, “Farooq crossed all limits and indulged in very unsocial comments and utterances, which cannot be expected of a leader of such stature and a person who is holding an important portfolio in the Congress-led UPA Government at the Centre.”
Arora also condemned a comment of State Congress chief Saif-ud-Din Soz in which he had compared Narendra Modi with Hilter.
