JAMMU, Apr 20: Gandhi Nagar police today arrested two chain snatchers and recovered gold chain weighing 23 grams and a pendent from their possession.
A police spokesman said that, a lady namely Rani, wife of Karan Singh of Balmiki Colony complained about snatching of her gold chain and a pendent by two bikers to Gandhi Nagar police station.
Accordingly, a case under FIR number 49/14 under Section 382 RPC was registered at police station Gandhi Nagar and investigation started, he added.
During the course of investigation, police team from Gandhi Nagar police station led by SHO Arun Jamwal arrested the chain snatchers, who have been identified as Anuk Sharma, son of Jai Gopal of Paloura and Ajit Sharma, son of Tirath Sharma of Indra Colony, Janipur.
The bike used in committing the crime and gold chain weighing 23 grams along with a pendent were recovered from the accused, he added.
