Rajnath asserts BJP-led NDA would win about 300 seats

TIRUHIRAPALLI, Apr 18:
BJP national president Rajnath Singh today expressed confidence that the BJP-led NDA alliance would win about 300 seats, getting a clear and comfortable majority to form the next government at the Centre after the ongoing Lok Sabha elections.    Talking to newspersons here, he said the BJP-led alliance was clearly ahead and would definitely lead the country. Asked if the party would approach AIADMK supremo J Jayalalithaa for support in a post poll scenario if NDA is not able to form the government on its own, BJP president Rajnath Singh claimed that such a situation would not arise as NDA would definitely get a comfortable majority.    When asked about criticism that Gujarat model development was only a myth, he said a Parliamentary Research Committee in the US and the Rajiv Gandhi Foundation headed by Congress President Sonia Gandhi have commended the Gujarat Model of  development.
Criticising the Congress-led UPA government of lacking diplomatic skill to solve the issue of attacks on fishermen by the Sri Lankan navy, Mr Singh said the BJP-led NDA, on coming to power at the Centre, would find an amicable solution to this issue through diplomatic efforts with Sri Lanka. It would also improve Indo=Sri Lanka relations, he added. (UNI)
