Wake up call for voters

P C Sharma
This is testing time for the Indian voter as the nation is all set for electing their representatives to constitute new Parliament which shall be responsible for enacting new laws and policies for providing the most dynamic governance well suited to take on the ticklish problems and the barbed issues gripping the country in their deadly claws. This is the most significant constitutional obligation of the eligible voters in a democratic setup to rise to the occasion, carryout in depth analysis of the prevailing circumstances vis-a-vis vital segments of the national edifice and then launch the final assault for putting in place a bevy of competent, responsible and committed incumbents who rising above the partisan politics can govern and deliver as a team by dint of their addressing the public and national issue as first and foremost duty in a befitting manner.
The opportune time knocks at the door of electorates once in a span of five years. The onus of choosing the best from amongst the available stuff lies on the people who act as hub of democracy. If we falter and fritter away the God sent opportunity recklessly on a dismissive note, the clock would tick away unhindered leaving and all forlorn and distraught to remorse and curse ourselves for another sphere of five years. The things would, for sure be thrown awry for the nation once again. The most tormenting issues confronting the nation in the twilight hour of electing a new Govt and generating a systematic change can be enumerated as all pervading corruption with societal acceptance, unmanageable price rise of food commodities and other essentials for subsistence of common masses, Pak sponsored trans border terrorism propped up with in house antinational elements, unbridled caste based reservation at the sacrifice of merit, job oriented education with thrust as inculcation of life values, burgeoning unemployment vis-a-vis the disoriented and directionless youth, weakened foreign policies, paradigm shift in economic model from western base to Indian base with thrust on rural economy, moral turpitude of top brass politicians, bureaucrats, technocrats and the business tycoons, expansionist advances of China coupled with economic invasion on Indian markets, inadequate Defence Budget to take on the lurking external threat perception.
These burning issues are clamouring for immediate solutions which cannot be provided by the given system of governance. It requires a radical change in the system with men of eminence, good moral standing and fully charged to change themselves and get the things changed in the positive direction. It is really amazing that a nation of more than 100 crores has not been able to produce a majority Govt worthy of tackling the specified burning issues skilfully and tactically transcending the whole barrage of parochial prejudices arising from prevalent political morass. This is the urgent call which voter has to take without fail at this decisive moment.
Status quo-ist political formations have been raking up the rotten issue of communalism, secularism using their divisive and fissiparous tendencies as props to capture the power centre. The young generation and the nation is keen and enthusiastic to move forward on the path of infrastructural development and meaningful redressal of public and national issues. Mind it whosoever lives on this holy soil is Indian by faith and belief. The feeling of national integration is deeply assimilated in his blood. Since inception, we have been voting on caste lines, personal relationship basis, local and regional issues, accessibility of political activists and many other distant considerations of paltry benefits. This has damaged the national fabric and aggravated our sufferings.
This is a flawed situation from where we have to take quantum leap for change and robust central leadership. This is not feasible without a majority Govt of one party whose declared Prime Ministerial candidate  is dynamic and a genuine changes. We have tried coalition Govts as well as third front formations in the past. They have not delivered but multiplied. This is the golden moment , act wisely, come out of comfort zones vote profusely for positive change breaking the jinx of coalition Govt.
