Refer news items ‘Dr Karan Singh resents neglect of Dogra heritage sites’ DE March 10.
The concern expressed by Rajya Sabha MP Dr Karan Singh over the neglect of rich Dogra heritage sites in Jammu and other parts of the State should be given a thought by all stake holders.
These sites are not mere buildings but symbols of Dogra power, besides being specimens of architecture marvel. These buildings have a history appended to them. They act as a link between past and present of Jammuites.
There is every apprehension that in case they are not restored to their original status and maintained on regular basis,they will crumble and cannot withstand the vagaries of weather.
There is need to allocate sufficient funds from the State coffers to preserve this heritage.
