Compensate victims of landslides, heavy rains: Khatana to officers

Over 150 activists of NC, PDP, Cong join BJP

RAMBAN, Mar 5: More than 150 activists of NC, PDP, Congress and some other parties including many Sarpanches and Panches today joined BJP during a function and resolved to support the party candidate in upcoming Lok Sabha elections to strengthen the hands of PM Modi.
The new entrants were welcomed into BJP by senior BJP leader and Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha), Gulam Ali Khatana.
Prominent among new entrants included Shabir Ahmed, Sarpanch, Irshad Ahmad Shah, Ghulam Mohd Shah, Abdul Gani, Asif Ahmed and others.
While addressing a gathering on this occasion Khatana said that Jammu and Kashmir has seen historic developments during the regime of PM Modi.
“After the abrogation of Article 370 and 35-A lot of development has taken place in J&K and the common man has empowered,” he maintained adding that in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections BJP will win all the five seats from J&K and the one from Ladakh with a thumping majority.
Khatana asked the gathering to strengthen the hands of PM Modi by voting overwhelmingly in favour of BJP so that pace of development may continue in future also.
Earlier the MP met officers of district administration Ramban and instructed them to extend every possible help to the people who lost their homes in landslides and heavy rains.
Khatana asked the officers to make a report of the losses suffered by the people whose cattle were killed in the incidents of landslides and heavy rains and properly rehabilitate those who have lost their homes in the calamity.
The MP asked the officers to take a note of problems arising due to bad roads in the area.
The senior BJP leader said that schemes launched by PM Modi led Government through Social Welfare Department should reach the beneficiaries and problems of water and power supply should be solved soon so that the poor may also heave a sigh of relief.
A deputation of Banihal Bar Association led by Mustafa, Abdul Hamid and Farooq Ahmed also met Khatana and demanded improvement of facilities in courts of Ramban district along with appointment of more judicial officers and upgradation of sub-court in Banihal.
