MENDHAR, Feb 17: The people of Mendhar town today held protest outside the local CAPD outlet which is lying high and dry for the last three weeks.
The people including rationees, assembled at the main Government ration depot of the own and held protest during the day. They were raising slogans against TSO Mendhar, Assistant Director CAPD Poonch and the Director CAPD Jammu besides concerned Minister. They alleged that for the last several weeks, ration is not being disbursed and it is generally brought only during last week of the month. Many people remain without ration and were forced to purchase it from open market for consumption. The CAPD local staff and dealers have devised a way to black market the ration in connivance. There was no check by the senior officials on the depots. They lodged their protest with the SDM and Tehsildar Mendhar who assured action in this regard.
