UDHAMPUR, Feb 16: Police seized over 5kg 500gram of poppy straw (bhukki) at Kud on National Highway from a truck and arrested one person.
Based on a specific input, a police team led by SHO Police Station Kud laid a surprise naka on National Highway near kud and intercepted a truck bearing registration No. PB10BZ-1162. Smuggler who was travelling in the said truck tried to flee from the spot but was immediately nabbed by Police party. During the search of the Truck, 5 kg 500gm. Poppy straw was recovered.
He was indentified as Slam Din, of Mlar Kot Amritsar. A case under Section 8/15 NDPS Act was registered in Police Station Chenani.
